Our Mission
Our Mission
The mission of the Jewish Cuba Connection (JCC) is to assist, support, and empower the Jewish communities of Cuba through fellowship and action.

Message from Stanley Falkenstein,
Founder and President, Jewish Cuba Connection Inc.
It is hard to believe that we at Jewish Cuba Connection Inc. (JCC) are about to enter our 14th year of operations. The many accomplishments JCC has helped achieve over these years bring a smile to my face. Starting with outreach to three synagogues in Havana in 2000, JCC has extended its support to Jewish communities all over Cuba.
In Santiago, Guantanamo, Camaguey, Caribean, Santa Clara and Santi Spiritus as well as other communities in which Jewish residents live, , JCC is synonymous with support and empowerment.
With the help of you, our sponsors and partners we have not only helped Cuban Jews have a meaningful Jewish life, but also contributed to a thriving Sunday School, the founding of a Jewish Senior Center, the First Cuban Holocaust Memorial and Education Center as well as physical improvements to synagogues. In addition we have helped Cuban Jews create a support network for those in need —Jews and non— Jews alike.
But, we cannot rest on our laurels. Our Cuban brethren face many challenges. With your support, we will continue to empower the Cuban Jewish community, provide needed help and let them know they are not forgotten.

Cuba
About 1,500 Jews now live in Cuba, the vast majority in Havana, and in the nearby towns of Cienfuegos, Santa Clara, and Sancti Spiritus. Others live on Cuba’s east coast, in Guantanamo, Santiago de Cuba, and Campechuela, and still others in the central Cuban city of Camaguey. The current number of Jews living in Cuba is fewer than the pre-Revolution figure of 15,000. Many left after the Revolution and, in the following years, the small size of the community and the challenges associated with practicing religion lead to a very high intermarriage rate.
