Jewish Cuba Connections’ programs and activities are designed to assist, support, and empower the Jewish communities of Cuba through fellowship and action. Key to these efforts is working as equals with the leaders and member of the Cuban Jewish community so that they are empowered to help their community become stronger and even more cohesive. JCC achieves its goals by, in some cases, giving Cuban Jews the tools and skills they need and funding important initiatives.
This approach has engendered strong support from the community: our mutual respect is the glue that ties Jewish Cuba Connection to the Cuban Jewish community. The Jewish Cuba Connection’s work also is distinct because it focuses on not only innovative projects and more traditional initiatives in Havana —where the majority of Cuban Jews live, but also the needs of Cuban Jews who live on the island’s east coast. Along with creating and helping maintain programs in Cuba, Jewish Cuba Connection (JCC) also makes presentations in the U.S. so that others can learn about the spiritual, economic and other needs of our Cuban brothers and sisters and organizes missions to provide religious, fraternal, and humanitarian support.
